i use a razor scooter as a mobility device. heather contacts the sheriff's office because i was given a problem getting in and out of the building for meetings. i got a letter from the building manager that stated that they apologized and they understand that i use this as a mobility device and that there would not be a problem. well, unfortunately, that word has not gotten through to all of the people that work at the sheriff's department. so i was held up through two or three different people coming out, until someone came down the hallway. this has happened more than once. so i don't understand what the communication issue is in the sheriff's department or why they have to make it a big deal each and every time i come into the building. as if i am, you know, 20 and i'm going to be riding my scooter willy nilly racing up the hallways. it's pretty obvious i'm not of the age group that i need to be a big concern. maybe i am and i don't know it. also, you know, it's not mentioned, but it's pretty obvious. as i say, i do use a ra

yes, most of us here today. this change is a big change and it's going to be impacting a lot of folks we're doing everything that we can to make people aware of it before it actually happens. as you may know, ihss is a statewide program. so all of the counties in california have to use the same database to pay providers. to issue time sheets and also issue paychecks. in the current system, counties and san francisco we process the time sheets locally. and anyone that is at all aware of our system knows that this system currently has lots of problems with it. the database we use i think is over 30 years old. so it's long overdue for a system upgrade. and this system upgrade has been in the works for over 15 years. and it has been delayed over and over again. but we are actually after a lot of preparation and time coming towards actually going live with this system. and san francisco will be changing over to this new system on march 4th of this year. that is pretty soon. and so what providers and consumers of ihss

"today in the bay's" arturo santiago is live in san jose with the story. arturo, good morning. >> reporter: good morning. the traffic investigation unit was working into the early morning hours on this one after someone apparently tried to run over a san jose police officer. it happened just after 11:00 last night. the officer involved was conducting a traffic stop near capital expressway and towers lane. for some reason a driver tried to run over the officer and drove off. the police officer had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit by that suv. he then got into his patrol car and pursued the suspect who was heading south on highway 101 toward blossom hill road. now, at one point the suspect turned off his lights as a tactic to try to get away.
